On Friday, the kids declared Mrs. McKenzie the BEST teacher ever!!! They conducted a science experiment to decide if their "Goo Yuck" was a solid or a liquid.  However we can't decide if they had more fun discovering or getting dirty!! We think the pictures prove just how much they enjoyed the experiment.

The past couple of weeks during Storytime we added a few more Kings, Queens, Princesses, and Princes to our royal roster. :o)

October already?!?! How did that happen!!

August has come and gone...September flew through...now October is here! Wow!! This school year is blowin' through, but we haven't noticed since we're making new friends, learning lots, and loving life in "the pound". Today in Language Arts, we got to do the unthinkable....we drew ALL OVER OUR DESKS! Don't worry...we wiped it clean, but not before learning all about long e! Check it out!!

Story time @ the Library

What a great first couple of weeks at school! These kids are truly amazing!! During the last two weeks our classes had story time.  In third grade, Mrs. Williamson chooses a student to help with the start of story time.  They magically become a Queen, King, Princess, or Prince.  Check out our Queen Caitlin and Princess Elizabeth.....

We think royalty suits them well!!  Next Friday, Sept. 17th your child will be bringing home a star shaped posterboard.  We'd like them to put pictures, words, drawings or anything about them on their poster.  It will be due on Friday, October 1st.  Here are our stars....

3rd Grade Scientists!

Our 3rd graders have been doing a great job conducting experiments!  We have learned that Lays regular chips have more fat than Lays baked chips.  (Bad news for those of us who love regular potato chips!)  We have also "observed" that a lot more drops of water will fit on the head of a penny than we "predicted"!  The kids are learning to go through all of the steps of "The Scientific Method" when conducting an experiment.  We will continue our experiments next week and will work on "Classifying"!
